The Bureau of Reclamation, in cooperation with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), announces the availability of Agricultural Water Conservation Efficiency Grants, a funding opportunity through the Bay-Delta Restoration Program. Reclamation is seeking proposals from California Indian tribes, irrigation districts, water districts, and other organizations with water or power delivery authority to partner with Reclamation on district-level water conservation projects that facilitate on-farm conservation or water use efficiency. In 2011, Reclamation and NRCS formed a water conservation partnership as a pilot project. As a result of the success of this partnership, Reclamation and NRCS are continuing the collaborative process through this funding program.

The Water Research Foundation has announced an initiative to update and expand on their 1999 study of residential end uses of water. Search the Water Research Foundation for other reports in the area of water conservation.

The Innovative Conservation Program, a joint effort between Metropolitan Water District of Southern California and USBR, invites proposals for research focused on landscape irrigation and commercial, institutional, industrial water use efficiency.

Conserve Florida Water Clearinghouse maintains a summary of Applied Research Priorities in the areas of efficient water use efficiency and conservation.

The Alliance for Water Efficiency (AWE) maintains a list of recommended Water Efficiency Research Projects (funding still being pursued).

The Australasian scientific review of reduction of flows on plumbing and drainage systems (ASFlow) is an ongoing project investigating the impact of water efficient technologies on plumbing and drainage systems. A similar study  has been proposed by the Plumbing Efficiency Research Coalition in the US.

Utah State is currently conducting research to evaluate the acceptability of select commercially available meters that have few or no moving parts and are robustly constructed for potential use in the extreme operating conditions of Utah's secondary water systems.
